A-Basin began it's first ski season in 1946 with a single rope tow, which was located from midway to the top of the mountain. Skiers were transported to the base of the tow in an Army weapons carrier pulled by a four wheel drive vehicle. A reported 1200 skiers enjoyed the first season. The daily lift ticket started at just $1.25!
Now A-Basin is a locals favorite with great terrain and an escape from that Big Resort feel. Located on the west side of Loveland Pass and the Continental Divide it has a longer ski season with a summit elevation of 13,050 feet. Arapahoe Basin now sports 69 trails and multiple chairlifts, catering to over 250,000 people per season!
