International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge
By The Stu Crew

"Blowin' In The Wind" snow sculpture at the Riverwalk Center

Each team starts with a huge block of snow and sculpts it into a huge work of art. Past sculptures were absolutely amazing and each New Year brings something new to the competition. The contest is usually towards the end of January and sometimes into the beginning of February. You’ll find these very large snow sculptures right in downtown Breckenridge all around the Riverwalk center. The 2008 Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships hosted 16 teams from 9 countries. In the year 2009 the International Snow Sculpture Championship in Breckenridge ended with the first place team from Canada Yukon.
