Breckenridge Ski area is progressive with advancements being made each year on and around the mountain. Snow making is huge with 565 acres. Breckenridge has a new BreckConnect Gondola taking skiers from town up to the Peak 8 Ski Area base. In May 2007, Vail Resorts Development Company broke ground on the first building of the Breckenridge Peaks lodging project. The Crystal Peak Lodge sold 45 of 46 units during the winter season, demonstrating the strength of the Breckenridge real estate market. The Breckenridge Peaks will also include a new Peak 7 base area and the redeveloped Peak 8 base area.
